Cloth Rubbing Silk

• Demonstration: When a glass rod is rubbed with silk cloth then some of the electrons from the glass rod get transferred to silk cloth.
• Thus the glass rod get transferred to silk cloth gets negative charge. No new charge is created in the process of rubbing.
• Useful for demonstration of the friction tube experiment.
• When rubbing two silk cloths together, they will repel, since both cloths have negative charge.
