• The Parafilm is a moisture-resistant thermoplastic used to seal Nematode Growth Media (NGM) agar plates on which the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans is cultured. This practice reduces media dehydration and microbial contamination.
• The Parafilm sealing film can be stretched up to 200% and clings around irregular shapes and surfaces.
• It is resistant to many polar substances such as saline solutions, inorganic acids and alkaline solutions for up to 48 hours (After this time it may become brittle)

• Parafilm is a semi-transparent, flexible film composed of a blend of waxes and polyolefin.
